We have a fairly new Eskimo Icecold three-way fridge and when it's working, it's great, but boy do I 'get it in the neck' when it's not...
This year, got fridge out of shed and tested it: working OK on 240V and gas. First week of holiday, on gas, fine...second week (different site) on EHU, OK to start with, then...nothing.
Now, we carry some offcuts of fence panel board as levelling wedges (tapered and slightly bent, so very versatile) but hadn't got enough for the slope at this second site and we couldn't get the fridge absolutely level, despite it having a spirit level built-in.
Are they really that fussy, even on electric?
We tried it on gas, and we tried turning upside down for a bit, but still it wouldn't start up again. Back at home, after a 200-mile drive, it's working fine.
So, how should we get a stubborn fridge working 'in the field' without resorting to a long ride in a Land Rover? And how do we stop it stopping in the first place?
