Good morning all, well after asking for advice on the royal loo my friend gave me a used but very clean Thetford portapotti 365,brought it home this morning filled the top chemical additive about 1/2 full and tried the flush but the white push down bit just goes down once and only comes up about a third of the way and no water comes out of the white pipe bit on edge of bowl and it sounds like someone with asthma after a run, with a small amount of water seeping from round the flush. Are the bellows knackered if so and chance of a how to on replacement.
Thanks Rick 'n' Josy

It sounds like the bellows could be knackered. Some years ago I bought some new bellows off eBay and they came with instructions on how to fit them. They don't cost much. Fitting is a little fiddly but not difficult.

Make sure there are no blockages in the flush tube of course. It's a long time ago now but if I remember rightly you have to remove the bellows to get at the workings beneath. Since the bellows are glued into the seating hole you usually ruin them getting them off so need a new one anyway. The new bellows have a strip of sticky stuff at the bottom (pull off a strip of paper to reveal the glue) then you push them into the hole.

A bit vague but it was several years ago when I had a caravan with a porta-loo and like yours the bellows would push down but wouldn't come back up and no water came out. Replacing the bellows and checking the pipework fixed it.

If you go to the Thetford website : www.thetford.com/HOME/PARTS/PortableToilets/PortaPotti365PartsNEW/tabid/635/Default.aspx and download the maunal, there is a detailed diagram of the parts. From my memory the bellows cost under £15. Also check thet the air vent hole in the filler cap is clear or you may end up with a vacuum in the tank which will stop the flow.

Glad to hear you fixed it...bloomin' irritating when things stop working and you can't see why.
