Hi there, we have booked into a site that says it only has 10amp electric hookup, we usually run a travel kettle, van fridge, portable tv and if it is really cold a 400w halogen heater, my query is if I have say the tv and fridge on, would I be able to plug in the heater without tripping the electric?

To calculate power, multiply the voltage by the current (W=V x A)

So with a 10A supply, you have a maximum of 2400W to play with. You need to add all your items wattage to get a total then see if it's less than 2400, and with a little leeway, find out what you can and can't put on at the same time.

I'd hazard a guess and say you're probably gonna be ok as long as it is a low-wattage travel kettle and not a normal domestic one.

Thanks so much for the quick response, the kettle is only a little travel kettle, and I would not use it at the same time as the heater anyway, just the tv and the fridge
