Hi all, we have recently bought a 1990 cotswold windrush caravan, and dell in love with it, its only a little 2 berth but fab, could anyone help us with working the heating, its a trumatic e , the book that comes with it is for 2800 + 4000, dont want to start messing with it until we know what to do properly(the book is a bit confusing), do you have to connect 2 gas bottles if you want to run it by gas? and how to connect them? sorry we are complete novices, have had 3 trips already but getting a bit nippy soon, any help would be much appreciated

many thanks

Sue

I'm not sure what you have, is it a convector heater or a blown air heater? In either case, it should be 'plumbed in' to the gas and all you have to do is connect up a gas bottle and turn on any isolating valve.
Oh, and make sure the 12V. supply is switched on if appropriate.

Now, you've had 3 trips already - how did you cook / how does the fridge work? Presumably the gas is up and running already and you've sussed out the 12V.

As for two bottles, you can have the option of using two bottles in any van, but that's just to double your capacity, nothing more.

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

You have one bottle connected & the other is there to change over to once 'tother is empty. If your cooker/fridge is working the heater should as well. The isolating taps should be easily found in a cupboard. I wouldn't be using a 20yr old gas heater without getting it serviced first tho.
