I'm after a new sleeping bag. The mummy one I have is too tight across the shoulders.
I would prefer a square one if possible. I'm 6 ft tall so would need to be quite long. Needs to be 3 - 4 season and I'm Looking to pick one up in the sales for around £30.-£40.
Can anyone give me any recommendations or has anyone seen anything that's good quality for a good price? Any suggestions welcome
I await some useful responses to this thread The Mackam. I am after the very same. I thought I had found 'the one' until reading the small print and finding it was only a summer weight.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
I got an Outwell Camper Lux in the GO sale last month, it was about £30 I think, tried it out last weekend and it's the bee's knees. Really roomy, cosy, excellent quality. We had quite a cold night and I was toasty where in my old Vango I would have frozen. Definitely worth considering.

------------- April/May - Georgia destroyed in high winds sob
May - Loch Ken, 1st outing for the wolf lake
July - Waterside House, Lake District
July - Inside Park, Dorset
I have the Aztec Swallow XL (Extra Large) i'm 20 stone, 54" chest and 6ft 2" and find it fine for me, i'm fortunate enough that my SIL works for the parent company that make them and they have a staff shop, that, and a sale day meant i got it for £13 but a quick google will find one under £30
Another vote for the Outwell Camper Lux. My hubbie is just under 6 foot and finds he has plenty of room in it. We have been super snug in ours on colder nights early May. I seem to recall it is a 3 season bag, not a 4 season. You can also get them with a left and right zip to make a double .......should you be feeling particularly cold!!
Edit - just to add - they do pack quite bulky and take up a lot more space than our old vango bags.
my OH is very sensitive to cold and hates tight mummy bags. Her standard bag is Vango Nitestar 450 SQ
To me it is way to warm except in winter, well worth £40 we paid, maybe cheeaper in the sales
Reason we got this one over Hudson etc is Vango is constructed with 2 layers of insulation offset stitched, so there can be no cold spots. Cheaper ones dont do that
Vango also has a nice poly cotton inner which is nice and soft. And the bag is big enough, so it is fairly easy to repack
Got 5 Vangos (proper ones) and 2 Outwells (kids ones) in this house - so we might be slightyl biased
Although I zip ours together to make a double, I did make hubby get in it when it was in single mode to see if it would be big enough for him. He's 6ft 4in and has a 50" chest and he was ok in it.
I got the Go outdoors £30 price matched by my local Yeomans which saved me the petrol to Cardiff
We have had Vango 350 sleeping bags for years now, 0 degree rated (although as you get several ratings these days for a sleeping bag - I am not sure whether the 0 is comfort or extreme). Anyone advise?
I'd second Vango sleeping bags - proven a very good purchase. We have a right hand one and a left hand one and zip them together to make a double or keep them separate.
We combine with a duvet for early spring camping and blankets in the autumn so a higher rating would be useful for these seasons if you want to just use sleeping bags.
