Hi, recently returned from camping trip to Devon and we were thinking if we could reduce the space our clothes take up in the car we could take more things with us. So we got to thinking about Vac Packs just wondered if anyone uses them and how you would re vac them at the end of the holiday to go back home? Thanks for your help.
We bought the original proper Space Bags and used the Jumbo Tote for sleeping bags and all other clothes, pillows etc. Had bought the smallest cylinder vac we could from Asda, cheap lil thing and took that with us for getting air out on return, worked a treat.

I use vacpacs for pillows, duvets, etc and find they are brilliant for saving space. I have used the roll-up ones but now have a new airpump which should get the air out of the ordinary bags. I have had the same bags for 2/3 years and they are still going strong.
I've just tried a cheaper version from Asda, put me king size duvet in it to take home from last camping trip, rolled it to get most of the air out, then sucked the rest out with the airbed pump in reverse . it did the trick for the journey home but don't think it'd stay too flat for too long in everyday use, I will be using them again.....
We have used Vac bags for sleeping bags/pillows etc from poundland and found them to be as good as the more expensive ones.
We have also used the large size to vac pack the tent ! This made it so much easier to get the tent back into its bag and also prevents damage from mildew etc when storing.
These are a must have for our trips because the soft stuff would take up too much room otherwise. I recommend Argos. They have the ones you don't need a vacuum for but they are more efficient if you do. They come in packs of three and you just leave a little gap at the top ziplock bit and the air gushes out of there.
Remember that if you put something stinky or damp or infested or whatever else horrid in there, it will come out exactly the same the other end so don't store anything long term unless it is as fresh as a daisy!
Yes i use vac bags. Stored my duvets and pillows in over winter, came out as dry fresh as when they went in. I put tumble dryer sheets in between them.
