Half true, but the cold ground will draw the heat away far more than the surrounding air, it's best and warmest to insulate both sides.

What a damn good idea that is! I have some new underlay backed carpet that is stuck in the loaft.. it would probably do the same job...thanks for the tip.

in our cupboard upstairs we've got a big roll of the dear underlay stuff for laminate , the green stuff , i said to hubby a few weeks ago we should take this camping and use it under the beds , he said , nah stupid idea , i showed him this thread and pics yesterday and he said ! oh what a good idea

On a serious point-- we know how cold it can get and we have just been awa y with freinds who's kids slept in their own pup tent, as they put the tent up I noticed my freinds hubby put down a -silver survival blanket thingy- he said you can pick them up from Tesco and others for about 50p.........maybe that would be better. cheers gary
