Are these worth getting rather than a table? We are new to camping so just looking at equipment i was thinking something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/blackspur-Camping-Kitchen-And-Store/dp/B003JFZR60/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1284136106&sr=1-3-spell but dont want to waste my money if theres a better option? Also can you recommend me what type of stove we should go for thanks

Without a doubt if you can fit it in well worth it a lot better than a table can be left up outside up ready for next meal, when we camped we would not be without one. as for stove your preference two burner and grill??? single burner??? more than one of you I would go for Double keep your eye's open can be picked up cheap Aldi/Lidil all do them.Point is is what you can carry as well as the necessary tent sleeping mat/air beds sleeping bag ect.
And you will love it good luck

I really have no idea about the cooker but would want something thats big enough to make meals with. We will be doing weekend camping in the UK maybe upto a week in school holidays

if you need a grill then you are looking at gas, and need to factor in the cost of the bottle and regulator - I don't profess to be an expert in this area but I am sure one will be along in a minute with some suitable advice

EHU=toaster+kettle (but not at the same time)

some folk use a couple of these single burner type stoves

where in the country are you?
I have a never used brand new double burner with grill I would part with for less than ou want to pay.

You will also need the connector, the gas hose and a gas bottle - bottle expensive at first but then just refils unless you can get one from the tip or freecycle.

I've got a cooker going as well! Its a Campinggaz Camping Kitchen Extra. Its a few years old, and has no grill, but it does come with legs and a larder, which is why we chose that particular model. You'd need a gas bottle, we use ours in the trailer tent, and it might be as well to change the hose and regulator. Its going on Ebay in the spring, along with other items from my shed clearance!

Tbh though, I much prefer my new tent camping toy the Coleman Perfect flow stove. Its really efficient and doesn't need a big gas bottle. Although that probably works out more expensive to run, space is at a premium when we're in a tent, and I don't want to have to get the gas out of the trailer tent.

All the best,
Alison
