Hi all, this has been my first season camping and I have learned a lot!!! Anyway, I am looking to get a few things for next year eg, tent carpet, extension, camping kitchen. A few places are having sales now, but as I am new to this - are there better deals to be had later on the year once camping season is well and truly over??

A lot of general stores like Millets, Blacks etc are clearing shelves for winter sports and clothing, so their sales at the moment are clearance sales and they have been going for a while now, so supplies are starting to thin. The same will also be true of independents that stock different items during the autumn and winter before coming back to camping stuff in the spring.

I got a few 1/2 price items from Wilkos and Millets over the last few weeks, but some of the stuff I was possibly interested in had already gone or I took the last one.

Outlets that specialise in camping and caravaning stuff will be clearing from now for the new designs and stock next year. Popular stuff may sell out quickly - some tents have already sold out - while others you may still find at even greater discounts later to get rid, but you risk things having run out already. It depends what you are after and whether you're happy to switch to alternatives if something has sold out.
