.... well, let me explain.

We have a Cadac which we use whilst travelling with our 'van. The gas tube is connected to the Cadac and the fitting at the other end appears to be a lock-fit type metal nozzle that you can only release by turning a red lever by the 'gas in' port on the caravan.

If we wanted to use the Cadac at home, we would have to disconnect the hose from the Cadac and replace it with another hose that has a regulator fitted so that we could attach it to a gas bottle. Or would we?

Is there such a device that allows the snap-lock type nozzle to attach either to a regulator or to its accepted missing half, from which a short piece of tube could be fitted that has a regulator on the end. In essence, I'm just trying to emulate the fittings on the caravan without having to wheel the 'van round into my back garden!

you could get a couple of these 8mm gas coupling and fit the body of the coupling on the regulator and the fitting that attaches to the van and then fit the loose nozzele to the cadac

I use these fitted to my stove so i can switch between the campingaz 907 and the calor 4.5kg regulator

We carry two gas bottles one is connected to the universal regulator (30 psi) in the caravan, so we can plug the cadac into the bbq point. We also have a std regulator and hose fitted with the cadac fitting which we tend to keep on the spare bottle. We can then take the spare bottle out of the gas locker and use it wherever. Plus the std propane regulator seems to work better as it is a higher psi (37).

Thanks for your replies folks. This seems by far the easiest way of resolving my dilemna. Piece of hose with one of these couplings on one end and a regulator on the other.

Wanted to make sure that having a 'join' in the hose didn't elicit too many cries of 'don't do it!' from shocked readers.

The only thing is..... I found the pipe that was left attached to the Cadac was getting a bit mangled in transit, so I'm happy now to unscrew and screw in the Cadac tail piece which is attached to either the spare bottle with the regulator or the pipe with the bbq point push fit thingy. If that makes sense ..... !?

Anyway, each to his own.

We take 2 calor-lite bottles.  One is left connected to the Caravan 'system'.  the other one we lift out of the van and use for ther cadac in the normal way, with a regulator.
