Spinnaker and sail repair tape.... waterproof, strong, stands up to abuse in marine environments, long lasting, flexible, won't come off or lift at edges.....and costs a fraction of what tenacious tape costs. Can get it in colours and clear and kevlar reinforced. Tenacious tape, IMO, seems to be highly over-priced for what it is. Why spend £4.50 for 50 cm of tenacious tape, when you can get 4 times that length of sail repair tape or spinnaker repair tape for less money? I don't doubt tenacious tape is good....but the hype makes it very expensive for what it is.
Duct tape/gaffer tape - fantastic stuff for all sorts of quick repairs provided you get a decent one. 3M or Scotch or similar. Not cheap nasty stuff. My old car was held together with tough duct tape and it lasted for years. Use it all the time at work for mending handles of brooms and rakes and fixing all sorts of garden machinery. Wouldn't be without it, and also wouldn't be without cable ties :)

Nice one Paul - the repair to conifer hedge made me chuckle! Which reminds me, I'm sitting here, all ready to start work, next to a cactus that one of my daughters has mended with gaffer tape - it seems quite happy at the moment.
