I'm sure you won't regret that buy (your lucky)... after a while you will wonder how you ever did without it. We use a 3way too the combicool comes into its own league especially after a few hot days in the summer. (real cold beer oh & milk) The cool box we got from halfords( £100) 2years ago is fine for two days, (forget freash milk after that. Remember you can't get ice packs refrozen up a mountain or on a wild camp!!
3ways rule over any cool box (when it's fridge against cool box)

Glad to hear that you was pleased with your new fridge How did the shopping go busy I bet with all those mad Xmas shoppers wepopped out later and the traffic was manic.
I don`t know the legal side of travelling with gas bottles turned on or off,BUT I travel through the Tyne Tunnel quite often & am stopped every time & asked is my gas turned off. Also on the ferry to Ireland the same. Not recommended to travel with gas bottles turned on.
An LPG car has three solenoids; one in the tank multivalve and two in the engine bay. The control unit only opens these for a couple of secs when you turn on the key and if the engine is not runing after that it shuts them again. In the event of a ruptured pipe the solenoids would turn off the gas supply. If you're travelling with a calor cylinder on and crash, there's a distinct possibility that the van will fill up with gas as a result of a ruptured pipe (especially if you end up on your side. Also, if you leave the gas switched on in a ferry, any leak would vent out the bottom of the gas cupboard and fill the boat up from the bottom. It may not be illegal to travel with the gas turned on, but it's definitely not a good idea.

Hi Gary
"I think I know you better than that?"
Intrigued now, do I know you? by a different name ?
Kampers dont half get about !! Klose?
George
I most often post under the name 'gary' or arcsystems and somewhere once I used GaryC. Perhaps it would be clearer to say, "know you better than that by your posts"
I first came across you perhaps a couple of years ago on the net and then later you were posting on that self build site for masochists, least while I bothered to look in. You seemed to be the man on there to ask on anything to do with battery charging and while your system is perhaps ideal for motorhomes, I will continue to argue 'not for caravans'.
I do a lot of posting as my business is Internet based it helps to get the word out, if you do a search for 'Carver' my name will come up time and time again. What's so good is customers do not have to find websites such as this, the link is direct to their problem but being on a website then benefits the site itself. This is what I meant that "many more read your post than you might think", search engines get the name out worldwide. What I have found is the same 'core' names pop up on most of these sites, even if the name changes you can often recognize the poster by their words or attitude taken.
LPG car conversions also inject liquid gas into the cylinders, there is no gas to air option, or a naked flame. I've just check out the practical caravan website and they say that legally no appliances can be used while the vehicle is in motion.
I have parked very close to a road with fast moving traffic with the fridge running on gas and when cars go by the flame goes out and the lighter lights it again, but if I had an older fridge it would just go out. So driving with gas running the fridge would be pointless.
