is honorary member the highest accolade?

you could sit in the van while someone sits at the comp, and i think 2 yoghurt pots an a length of string is all the technology you need to invest in

Yes it is.

But that would never do - some one else would know my private thoughts as they typed them in!

me & a friend of mine once got drunk & decided to camp in the living room, after coming back from a club. I guess that makes me sad ! Although the camping was better than the club !

Yep, its funny what outdoor types can do on an impulse when drunk....

A few years ago, me and a very posh lawyer friend (two proper, growed up professional women) came back to her house from a beer festival and decided to sleep under the stars. It was a scorching August night but I am paranoid about getting cold when camping....so in our state of advanced inebriation, we dragged a mattress, 2 quilts, fleeces, hats and gloves out into the garden and kipped down looking like Nanook of the North.

We woke up steaming hot under the morning sun...and then she panicked with the realisation that her parents were about to arrive for the weekend from many miles away. They turned up to scenes of domestic devastation, as we were still (sweaty, scruffy and VERY hungover) dragging stuff back in through the french doors, walking in loads of leaves etc at the same time. Her mother (very puritanical type) was tight lipped with shock, whilst her dad ( much more laid back) struggled to keep a straight face at his wife's fury.....and I PMSL all the way home in the car!

Of course I'd never do anything like that now. I want to drape sheets over our 4 poster style bed to make it like a tent during the winter when I get withdrawal symptoms, but Dick just won't play.....

Innit nice to know that you are not the only odd person on the planet. I often sit in my van (on the drive) to do a bit of quiet paper work. Just like being in the thing. My neighbours think I am strange. They all do the fly away to nice parts bit. Which is nice, but we have done some of that and still like our 'van.

Funny isnt it, that we all spend 100's of thousands on mortgages & such like when most of us are much happier sitting in our van/tent ?!

I know where  I would rather be ...
