I bought a vango 7cm (just got a dozer as well from alpkit - they are on offer at the moment)
Slept on the vango and was v impressed. Planning to use it for camping over winter (when aerobed is too cold)
I'm not easily pleased so that is a recommendation!
Not tried less than 7cm (although i have got one in attic that i got free for subscribing to camping magazine) will have to give it a go, sorry can't give opinion on these
I have a 5 cm one and find it damned uncomforable. I think the comfort would be vastly improved if I used it on a campbed. One of the things I struggle with is how narrow they are, 50cm is not enough. I actually own two so I'm going to try putting them both, side by side, into a double sleeping bag then sleeping on top of the whole lot to see if that works.
I have not long since bought a Aerobed in fact I am in touch with them today,Used it twice and in the morning there are damp patches on it and the pressure seems to have gone down both of us ending up in the middle. The dampness they said is from the cold well we have a carpet underneath it and when you pump it up it still feels springy and not very firm. Are they not very good in cold weather ours is a raised one and I would have thought that it would not affect them as much.Thanks.Alex
I have a 2.5 inch MultiMat Adventure and I was really impressed with how comfy it was for the thickness. I'm 37 and almost 15 stone.
It seems to be really down to the individual though. You should see if you can try some out in a shop first. Some places have them inflated so you can check the comfort.

They're not brilliant in the cold weather as the air inside them is always cold. It should still feel firm though, regardless of the weather, I didn't have a trouble with the pressure (except when i had a slow puncture and i returned it and they sent another)
If it is cold I tend to put a quilt underneath me as well, is warm then!

I prefer my double height intex airbed.
that's why i bought the double S I mat - 50cm is not good for me with two fat dogs
