You are having some bad luck, it could just me that the power supply in the box is starting to fail, not uncommom on older box's as they are built to cost, usually it's just the capacitors that have dried out, repair kits are cheap, do a google or go to Satcure they do the kits, other than that it could be a software issue, current std Sky box should say.

EPG Software Vesion 3.8.8
If different to the above, then a forced software download, may solve the problem, to do this simply disconnect the power to the box, then whilst holding down the "BackUp" button on the box, re-introduce the power, and wait until the onscreen message say "Software Download in Progress" when this appears you can, let go of the "BackUp" button, when the download is complete the box will go into standby mode, it may take a couple of attemtps to get the software updated, and in some cases nothing will change utill the following day.
The most reliable std Sky box's that I have found are the Sky Mini-Box (aka Javelin box), mainly due to the fact that they run of a seperate 12v (mains adaptor) power supply, they come with a Switch Mode adaptor, which I keep for backup, and use a Linear 12v power supply instead, my current Mini-Box has been running for over 10 years without a glitch, using a Sky Freesat card.

Try plugging into dish at home, just a thought you are picking up wrong satellite with the finder as they can't tell which satellite you are looking for.

Macaw's made a worthy point here and it is odd you've got thru 4 receivers.
Have you bothered trying any of the 'faulty' units back at home again? It is easy to get the dish pointing at the wrong satellite; you'll still get signal strength on in-line meter.

That's a good point that macaw makes, the usual culprits are Astra1 and HotBird satellites as they kick out a signal of similar strength to the Sky Astra2 satellite that you are looking for, and unless you are using a none Sky Box, will result in the "no signal" message.

Hi---- I,v had a similar thing at my static caravan i/e once I have went through getting the sattelite all set up to astra 2 with a good signal etc, the message comes up "No Signal" I then switch of the digi box for a couple of minutes switch it back on and it works------- I hope it works for you.

Another point, the Sky system has a built in signal strength display. Press services, then 4 and then 6. I think you have not beamed in properly! A simple meter will get feed from any position if the gain is turned right up (the little thing like a volume knob). try turning the gain down until you get a small beep from the meter, not a big one and move the dish until it locks on, then keep repeating until the gain is down as far as it can go!
Also you need to make sure you get on the proper satellite. You can pick up a little compass from most shops for about 7 or 8 quid. Check this out!

Position according to the compass, then just fine tune left and right on the meter, then vertical on the meter. Then check on your Sky signal strength indicator. I have done this a few times using a meter (like the one displayed below) and my trust compass, tune in time is now down to about 10 minutes! what I refer to as the gain is the little knob on the right of the photo. It is so simple even a muppet like me can do it!

do not think your dish is set up correctly.point dish due south.point your watch to 12 o clock south and then turn dish to 5 too 12.or 140 degs on compass.set dish in the vertical position.the turning of the dish to get signal is is slight.see

Alternatively just get a compass like mine, that way not only do you know where due south is, you also have the satellite positions as well!
