Hi,I bought a new Lunar clubman in September which has an alarm and phantom tracker factory  fitted. The caravan was in store for three weeks(with tracker and alarm switched on) and I have had to recharge the battery as it dropped below 10.5 volts. In fact I have replaced the battery, thinking it was dud,it is 4 years old,but since recharging the battery it seems to be holding 12.7 volts, for 5 days now.

Do these Phantom trackers take alot of power when the caravan is stood,or is the battery dud?All replies would be appreciated.

Nev.

I had the same problem last year until I pulled the fuse on the radio. It appears to have been fed with a permanent live feed (same as in a car) to maintain it's memory and so was flattening the battery in about 6 weeks. Since pulling that I haven't really had a problem.

Also check that your aerial signal booster isn't on, if you've got one fitted. I always unplug mine.

Hi backaxle

I got my Lunar Clubman ES in May and I had the same problem the battery kept going flat. I was told to check the master switch had been turned off, I knew that I always left it on. I turned it off and haven't had a problem since. I know this might sound stupid but when your using EHU do you turn the switch under the bed on. It's just someone I know had never turned it on and his battery never got charged.

I phoned Phantom and they said that fully charged 110 amp battery would last for 6 months.

Thanks for the replies. The EHU is charging and I do switch the master switch off when I leave the van.I think the ariel booster switches off with the master switch, but I will check. The radio live wire sounds interesting, i will check it out.

Thanks again for your input.

Backaxle.
