ok,  now i may be in line for some mocking for this.......but

after some fun times camping last year, we invested in a electric hookup kit, thingy ma jig???

now this will mainly be used for chatging phones,cameras, and dvd player, with the other obvious use being a fridge.

now fridges seem very expensive, so can i get away with using a beer fridge such as

i have plenty of room in my van to get it there.  will this draw more than 10 amp???

Should only use 1 or 2 amps so no worries.

We used to use a plug in cool box for our tent and always found it was fine.  It is one that can run off 12v or mains so we would plug in at home before we set off to cool down, put food in and then plug into the car for the journey. Finally plugging in on site it was fine for all cool foods though of course it does not freeze.

 Now we have a FC with built in caravan type fridge we still use the cool box to transport the food down, keep food cool while the FC fridge cools down and then it makes a great beer/drinks fridge to give us extra room.  

It was pretty cheap and there are some bargains around at the moment in supermarkets and Halfords with it being winter.  

It is also a lot lighter and easier to transport to and from the campsite too.

Carlsberg mini fridges are listed at 75 w so you are pulling about 0.3amps off a standard hook up. On the green side of things they work so much more efficiently if kept full of ale - so do your bit for the environment
