Tony is correct if you are connecting outside a camper / caravan. If you are connecting a fridge and stove fitted in a camper then it is best to run via 8mm copper pipe work to a distribution manifold with two taps and then via 8mm pipes to the fridge and stove. Although it is not iligal to work on campers and caravans, unless you are competent in pipe work it is best left to a professional.
thanks for getting back to me. So you have a quick release connector inbetween the pipe thats going from the T to the appliance, that will then close off when you disconnect it? and if so, you need to have a quick release connector on both pipes going to the appliances. Then you just disconnect which ever appliance you are not using at the time.

Could I just point out a couple of downsides to having the one bottle for two appliances:
1/ If you want to move one appliances then you have to move both and, since they are connected, it is a real faff. e.g. let's say it's a lovely, sunny day (do you remember those?) and you want to cook in the open rather than in your hot kitchen tent.
2/ I wouldn't want to risk the fridge running out of gas, especially if we were off site all day on one of those aforementioned sunny days. I tend to have the fuller cylinder on the fridge and the less-full on the cooker; that way the fridge remains cold and, should I run out of gas mid-cook, I simply hook-up the spare or temporarily use the fridge's cylinder.
...as on the occasions when you didn't use all of the outlets,I wouldn't really like to rely on the unused fitting, fully sealing shut...especially if it got a little dirt/grit under the valve seat...
(We use a quick release on a single line, for our bbq and they are good tho')
That quick release connector Wongers is just what i need to take my gas fire off the camper van in the summer. Beats all the messing around with jubilee clips and normal connecters..

how does that "Truma 2 Tap Manifold 8mm" work then? It looks like it has two inlets. I always use the BBQ if cooking outside so I wouldnt need to move anything.

I should imagine it would(or should)come with and blanking "slug",so you could blank which end you wanted...
Our bbq,via a quick release ftting,is just fed off our spare cylinder,so the cylinder is turned off when the fitting is disconnected..
I'm not to sure it the quick release fiitings are meant to be used as actual "end stops"..it's something that I'd be checking with the supplier/manufacture..
I have made a y piece with the regulator on one leg of it and the other 2 have the female of the quick release on the other 2 legs. The cooker has 2m of hose to the male part and the fridge has 4m of hose to the male part. The problem I have is when the fridge hasn't been used for a bit, the hose takes some filling back up with gas because it uses so little and it takes ages. I think I might need a valve by the male release part to stop air getting into the pipe.
I do have another bottle of gas, and my wife and I drink enough tea and coffee that we would quickly notice that the bottle we are running on has run out!
