Just got a Cadac Safari Chef today after reading all the rave reviews about them on here. (I say "got today" but it was picked up by the carrier on the 20th and only delivered today).
Anyway it looks a fantastic piece of kit and very versatile with all the different cooking arrangements that can be done. Can't wait 'til the Spring until we get going again!

Why wait until spring to use it, oh has set it up in garage and cooked breakfast on ours this morning. He prefers to cook it this way rather than indoors.

I must be different then as I find mine a pain. Too fiddly and messy. The BBQ is rubbish and whilst the griddle is ok, it's still messy and cleaning the whole thing is a chore.
Each to their own.
I don't like it and looking to get rid but I accept there are hundreds on here who love their Safari Chef, I'm just not one of them sad to say.

That's a pity mantrachant, I was looking forward to using it.
There's just the OH and myself so I thought it would be OK for us. I liked the idea of the wok as when I cook at home that's mostly what I use.
Cleaning I suppose would be about the same for any BBQ.
Roll on better weather, I'll give it a test run at home first and if no good it'll go on Gumtree!

Funny isn't it, the barby works very well on mine giving an even heat across the meat - no burned spots. Not good to clean though.

Please don't allow my comments to put you off macquatic. I don't intend that at all. I was just as excited when I got my Safari Chef and have taken it along with me on my last 4 trips. One trip it never got used at all and I stuck to the portable stove and then I bought a Colman 'Fold and Go' and I like using that so much better with my camping set of non stick pans. I have a Cobb and If I want a BBQ I use that. I can see all the advantages of a Safari Chef and I am sure you will love it. I just didn't like it. The Cobb is not great to clean either but the fact that I can do a full Sunday Lunch on it, without smoke and flames going everywhere means that I now take the Cobb and the 'Fold and Go'. Happy Safari Cheffing this year.
