The Coleman Comfort airbeds have had a good reputation in recent years alongside the Aerobeds. We looked at SIMs - but the can take 20 mins plus to inflate - while our Kampa whirlwind rechargeable pump can inflate our double Coleman airbed in less than 1 minute. SIMs may be warmer, but we use fleecy mattress covers from Wilkinsons over our airbeds and they are toasty. SIMs can also get punctures although more hardy than airbeds.

My daughter has a caravan which has an uncomfortable double bed made up from the cushions of the front seats.  She bought a luxury mattress topper which is heavy and takes up quite a lot of space when not in use.  I was interested to read about the Vango SIM.  Would a SIM even out the surface of the bed and give her a better night's sleep?
