If you get a right hand zipped single and a left hand zipped single, they will zip together to make a double when you want. If they are mummy bags, then you just have a separate area for your feet. If they are envelope bags, which generally aren't as warm, then you can get them so that they are completely joined along their length when zipped together. You have the option of using them as doubles or singles then.

We got 2 Eurohike Adventurer 300s which often come up on a buy one get one free deal at Millets, comfort: -2 to +25 degrees, with an even bigger extreme range. We zip these together. At £49 each, the buy 1 get 1 free deal makes them really affordable. They have proven much warmer than our old Vango Wilderness 350s and come with all the baffle and hood features you need to keep out the drafts. After looking at all the options these offered the best temperature range without going silly on the price...

I understand that you can also get an optional extra width section that can be added for larger people or people who like a bit more space - but I'd check whether they are continuing this.

I got 2 of the outwell camper lux sleeping bags - toasty!

I bought a left hand and a right hand, so they zip together as a double - but you still have the option to seperate them obviously!

+ 1, we have the same and they are fantastic. I think it's worth investing in good sleeping bags, I think you get what you pay for.

It also depends on how much you want to spend and what time of year you are planning to go camping

I've got the coleman hudson for the warmer months, but it's not a patch on the outwell camper lux ones (pack size is about half though)
