Ok little help and advice please. Just read a couple of post on here as we were thinking of getting a Hexi stove, just for coffee in the morning and last thing at night. When we looked at all the festivals we are going to especially Knebworth there is a ban on all gas stoves and liquid fuels. So the only thing I can see is a hexi stove with may be triox gel blocks. If you have any ideas please help
The Gel Stoves are smokeless whereas Hexi does coat your kettle/pans with black sort of soot. Gel may well be better for what you need seeing that you won't be using them for major cooking
We have done V a few times, and are planning to go this year if we can get tickets. The last time we went, to avoid carrying everything to the camping area all we took was the tent and sleeping bags. We then lived out of the car. We left a small suitcase stove in the car, with the coolbox etc and went to the car in the morning to cook some breakfast. Not sure if this would work for you, but gets around not being able to take stoves onto camping site. If it is just for coffees you could boil the water and make flasks up ready for morning?

I shouldn't imagine you'd want to be trawling back to the car to brew up(..and in any case, they'd probably stop you from having a stove in the carparks).
Sorry never used one of the hexi type stoves(..at the festivals we camp at,we always get away with gas)..but you may get specific advice/responses if you re-tile the thread a little?
Hiya
I've used a hexi stove the past few years at VFest (because of its small pack size)and its fab, I wouldn't hesitate to recommended it. I buy the square blocks (in boxes of 8) from army/navy stores or off ebay, usually take two boxes but only use box but didn't want to run out ;)
I take a small camping kettle and the smallest pan from the cheap campset I have, use it for boiling water for tea/coffee/hotchoc and also for warming up ravioli/othertinnedgoods
I have my packing down to a fine art for fests now its only taken me 5 years to acheive this..but basically I get everything in my 65l rucksack and if it isn't on my back, it doesn't go..
However not doing V this year, but I may do a couple of smaller fests :)

Unfortunately can't use a trangia because it means taking fuel in and a liquid form and they won't allow that either, has to be a solid fuel like Hexi tablets or gel packs. Kinda sucks
