Just been to Costco and they have the Igloo marine coolboxes back in. They are 45L, but they also come with a 8L personal cooler and a 1.9L water jug as part of the package. Well.......you know how it is.........I just had to get one at that price! It says on the box that it is a 3 day cooler, but I'm sure you could keep it going for a lot longer with the usual ice packs/frozen bottles/frozen food stuff. I can't give a review as yet, but I'm sure there must be some on here if you do a search - however, I can say that it is sturdy (makes a great seat), and it definitely looks good! Anyway, thought I would add a few pics in case anyone was interested......
Do you need a trade card to buy from Costco? If not, I'll be making a trip to our nearest branch.
Thanks Jean, it was a bargain I couldn’t resist!
Unfortunately, yes, you do need a membership card, but if you know someone who has one you could go with them. We have a trade card, but you can get individual membership if you work in certain professions - have a look on HERE for a list of who qualifies.
Hope you manage to get there somehow, but be warned! you will come out with much more than you went in for.
Hi just wondered if you have tried it yet as I am hopefully going to buy one tomorrow as we saw them tonight, but as I don't have spare cash to make mistakes thought I would try and google some reviews first.
Yes, go for it! I have used it a few times now (mainly for picnics/days out etc) and it does a really good job. I used it for a 3 day camp and packed it with 4 bottles of frozen water (one stood in each corner) and some frozen juice, chicken and milk. It kept everything lovely and chilled, and the orange juice was still partly frozen when I got back home. The personal cooler is good for storing bags of ice cubes for drinks, but I also leave it in the boot of the car to transport frozen food from shopping. Should also mention the cooler jug as well - keeps drinks cool for ages, and real handy for out and about with the kids.
Hope this helps!
Tracey
PS: We have a 3-way fridge, but I prefer the Igloo for shorter trips and is definitely more convenient....
I love Costco, but I tend to keep away from the place till I really need something, as it is never a cheap visit........too many nice things you see! All I can say is go along and have a look for yourself - you won't be disappointed. It's definitely a 'if you need it they have it shop, but they have even more of the 'you never knew you needed it till you saw it stuff’
As for pricing: You can get the usual trade prices on bulk buy stuff, but their general non food stock tends to be quality brands, so even though the prices are cheaper than the normal retailers, you still pay for the quality (if you get my meaning)
Love to know what you come out with if (when) you do go.
