i've used both types of heaters halogen & fan,for camping in the colder months,the fan heater comes on top everytime,halogen heaters work like the sun,warming solid objects they do not warm the air,however fan heaters warm the air & they just seem warmer,its a matter of personal prefference really.

as for sleeping.....i use a coleman queen size air bed,its higher than standard air beds but it takes about 5 minutes to fill as already been said,i place that on cardbord a duvet on the top of the air bed,a fleece on top of that,and a duvet on top of me.(nice & cozy)
