We have just got our first caravan and are considering the best cooking options. Although this has a gas oven, as we will be largely on electric hook-up, it would seem to make sense to get an electric cooking device.  Also, as some sites do not like BBQs, I was wondering about getting some sort of electric hotplate/griddle that could be used inside the caravan but that could also be taken outside to use as a BBQ (maybe like a glorified George Foreman grill wil detachable legs?).

I would grateful to hear any recommendations of any suiitable equipment or any alternative approaches.

Thanks.

We use a large George Foreman which has a separate stand. It take 1600w which is OK on a good quality hook up. It's been brilliant, especially when it's pouring with rain and we can't light the BBQ.

Trouble is our girls have grown up and it's just the two of us now. This thing is about half the size of the Ark Royal flight deck so it looks a bit sad with just a couple of sossies on it.

Soooo - that's something else to buy this year.

We use the George Foreman. With removeable plates, so much easier for cleaning.
