We always put the lid on the egg way round , the extension ring is then turned upside down and put on top of the lid on the outside.

The Cobb is addictive :)

Yes I second that - lid the right way up. I talked to the man at Cobb Uk and here's how he recommends packing the bag (board wont fit!)

Griddle plate upside down (I wrap mine in a plastic bag and have a circle of card in the very bottom under it)

Cobb base with fire basket inside (room for a cobblestone/other fuel)

Fry pan

Grill plate with roasting rack on top (fill the rack with more fuel, handles, thermometer, chicken stand etc)

Lid the right way up (I wrap mine in a white bin liner to protect it)

Turn dome extension upside down and slide over lid

Put the wok into the lid of the bag, then slide the bag closed and zip up!

Tent + food + glass of cider + friends = perfection

I call it the frying pan, but I think it is the wok - the deep sided, stainless steel pan, rather than the shallow frying pan. So for me, the wok everytime!
