You might be lucky this year as its a late Easter. I know we've went early easter camping and it was too cold even with fan heaters, halogen heaters, 4 season bags and loads of layers. Its not so much during the evening, but during the night when sleeping and the cold air is hitting your face. Wear a hat in bed - thats an essential though. Another off put for us was the general weather through the days. It gets quite claustrophobic in a tent if you have no-where to go because of torrential rain, wind, snow etc. So it gets quite boring and when your bored and cold its miserable. We just dont bother Easter camping anymore.

We are camping too at easter and hoping with easter being late this year that the weather will be ok. I find wearing a pair of tights to bed helps keep me warmer. Have made a flanelette liner for the sleeping bag so hopefully that will help keep me snug too.
Do same as we do just leave your fan heater on all night the thermostat will switch on and off and will stop condensation and stop bedding feeling damp also
we have a radiator style heater although bulky clicks in and out throughout night and is the best, i sleep dresssed up warmer than daytime trackies fleece am also thinking balaclava, hat, hot water bottle with ehu some use leccy blankets, thermal undies? i agree with under insulation we have duvet under and over takes up room but you can fold on back seat fro travel amd worth the good night sleep
my family are newish to camping and also thinking of taking the kids away at Easter. All the advice posted is realy useful - the simple ideas often seem to work the best!
