Hi everyone, been looking at the messages and hubby and i have decided to dump the idea of air beds! but bickering over SIM or camp beds! we dont have a lot of cash but i think a goodnights sleep is a make or break to or camping future. lol we are newish to camping used to have a trailer tent! any advice guys?
We use a couple of "ThermaRest DreamTime XL's" more of a sleeping system than just a SIM, got them back in 2008, and have used them for our fortnight camps in Southern France during July, they fasten together to make a Queensize bed, with there embedded conecting straps, in a word they are the Mutts-Nuts.
Go Outdoors will be selling their 4 legged camp beds for £5.99 between 14th & 27th March. A picture of the bed can be found in their March Megadeals brochure.

These are great but if you are of the fuller figure bodyframe like myself you will end up lying on a ripped bit of canvas. They cant hold us heavies.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.

On the Coswolds website at the moment you can get a Pacific Outdoors sim 5cm (red) for £34.00, it's the womens one. I got two of the 3.8cm (green) womens sim it says that it has extra warmth in certain areas (which I think men would want aswell surely) plus the women's are lighter in weight - if you buy via quidco you can get 6% cash back
------------- Get me my dust pan and brush, we're going camping!

They are also good for taking your eye out, when struggling to assemble (think: 'Bullworker'!)
Hi Guys thanks for all the info!! hubby and I have had lots to chew over!! at the moment cost is coming into the choice as we have just bought the tent and need the rest of the stuff!!lol soooo we have decided to go back to air-beds just for this season, mostly down to price!we just want to get out there!!as we have a little boy (nearly 3!)who likes to snuggle in our bed if he can! I think the camp-beds are out
My hubby is in the military he is used to using them! we will be bickering about it all year! lol
ER...Can anyone recomend a decent fair priced Air-bed!
Coleman Comforts and the Maxi version if tall. We have a double and single and they are performing well - 2 years now and only need a top up every few nights when its really hot weather. They were a popular recommendation on here last year... and not a bad price.
For the little-one we used a single Coleman Comfort for our son from 2 1/2, but be prepared to pull them back onto the bed if they roll off during the night. A popular alternative is the Kampa children's airbed, which has raised sides and ends.
Helen
------------- Love our set-up and need no more tents or gear, so trying to stop looking!
