Hi all,

My query is how to partition off the toilet area (for privacy) if none of the bedroom pods are free? It's not a problem when it's just hubby and me but we are taking my mother-in-law and our 12 year old in the summer so both bedroom pods in our Hi-Gear Zenobia 6 will be in use - we have used the enclosed porch to house the toilet before but we would prefer to keep the toilet within the main tent.

I have been looking at Ebay for inner tents as used in caravan awnings but am not sure how these would attach within the tent.

We love our tent so don't really want to buy a bigger one!

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated,

Jen

I'd be squeamish about someone other than my immediate family hearing me pee...but if you can live with it I'd suggest getting a toilet tent and putting it right beside your tent. You can get them for about £30

Hi Jollyjon and Victoria,we do have a toilet tent (sorry forgot to mention in my post) but would prefer to keep the toilet within the main tent - IMO a toilet tent just adds to the set-up and set-down time - we may have to use it again if no other option!

I would be tempted to use the toilet tent then as it's a one off occasion.

Yes, think that's going to be the best option - will position as close to the tent door as we can! thanks for the replies :)

If this is only going to be a one-off issue, and if the toilet is for overnight use only, could you store the toilet in a pod during the day and then move it into the living area (where nobody will be)overnight?

Heres what I did for my mum, shes 70 and still loves camping . I made a partition using an old hula hoop. Sew or fasten  long black out curtain or old shower curtain to drape from the hula hoop, then suspend it from the top pole with some string or wire.  The portapotti sits inside your drape.  No pole where you want it to be then run a strap between your poles and attach to that, this will only work if you have poles inside.  not tried it with my mojave 5 yet but will figure someway out at easter.

Tesco has hula hoops £2.99

No showing your bare bum to passers by if theres a light on..

I would just add, that inside, or just outside, won't make much difference to the usage noise

Update!! - Hi all, have bought one of these (hope the link below works!) a pop-up changing tent - goes up/down in seconds (hubby has already mastered the folding down - luckily there is a demo on 'You Tube').
As you will see colour matches the hi-gear tents which is a bonus. Will either have inside the Zenobia at night, inbetween bedroom pods or just outside tent.

Happy Camping to all!
