Hi all, been reading the forums for a while, some great info and tips on here thanks.

My local ASDA had campinggaz Chef (Dual hob and grill) camping cookers for sale at £37.50

I picked one up and am really impressed with it. Boiled a kettle and made toast in the garden to try it!

Hope this info helps someone else.

Regards

Barry

Yep we have one of these, that was a good price that you paid.

Toast is a bit sporadic on the browning front, but still a good bit of kit, so i agree with you

Great bit of kit, been using one for a couple of years now. Did you get the carry bag included in that price, if not well worth getting one as it keeps everything together.

Andy.

Hi,

First timer here. I'm looking for a camping stove/grill at the minute and am at the basic question stage.

Does a CampingGaz stove need to use a CampingGaz bottle or can I use a butane or propane one (with the proper regulators etc)?

Thanks

Kev.

You can use any gas cylinder with appropriate regulator.

Hi Kev.
If you decide to use CampinGaz cylinders, you should with a bit of luck be able to scrounge a couple from your local tip, we did this and now have a collection of each size CampinGaz cylinder 2 of each 901, 904 and 907, some even came full of Gas.

Your local tip may say no due to H&S, but most operatives forget this rule, when you offer them a fiver towards thier social fund!.

For UK use though you are probably better of using Calor or BP Gas, far cheaper than CampinGaz to refill, although nothing quite matches the CampingGaz cylinders for compact size.
