I have an oven in the caravan which is working fine, but on one of my trips someone I was chatting with said he had just bought a halogen cooker and removed his built in oven and he said it was fantastic. I bought one and tried it at home and it is fantastic, it roasts, grills, bakes, toasts, it cooks a lot quicker than a normal oven and takes up less room and can be stored away when not needed. I cooked a 1.4kg chicken in 70 minutes and its tasted lovely, prices start at about £20 mine was quite large and cost £60. have a look at this one on sale in argos cat number 423/7295

just an idea you might consider

If you go down this road i would suggest you buy a large one we bought a small one and it was totally useless, so many good reports on them that i guess size does matter.

If like us you go non electric for short weekends on a whim then a kampa roastmaster is ideal, a little pricey, but available on e-bay, as for quality, the oven gets hotter than the oven at home (300 degrees), it has 3 shelves and is big enough to take a 10" pizza with ease, one of my best buys by far.

try a Cobb, can use it just the same as an oven at home and cooks in around the same time too.
