Hi all

after a rather chilly May holiday last year I am looking at getting a heater for our Outwell  Michigan Xl

Can anyone reccomend a good heater (thats not going to break the bank?)

If using EHU we just got a small fan heater from argos that oscalates and has an anti tip device on it. Was well under £20.

I just picked up a little heater in Sainsbury's for £5 something, half price, I'm sure that'll help!

We use convector heater for about 4 years,1250w/2000w lightwight silent running so can leave on low thru the night, and thermostactically controlled,I have seen them under a tenner in sales,but on average 25/30 quid,brilliant! only gripe if had 1 is larger than a fan heater.

We used a hanging heater light but noticed last year that on our WL7 it was a bit too heavy hanging down from the hook thing so this year have a fan heater and a mini oil filled radiator..have yet to try them both out but neither were really expensive...tried the radiator in the longe last night and was impressed...so will see what happens over easter!!!

It depends how cold it is. In a large tent I found a convector heater struggled in really cold weather because it had to heat a large mass of static cold air, whereas a fan heater blows hot air around and heats the tent quicker. I think I paid about £10 for my fan heater from Currys. Some fan heaters can be noisy though so try and get a quiet'ish one. If it is just to take the chill off and the weather is not too bad then a convector heater is fine and they are quiet of course. Perhaps a convector heater with a fan boost might be the better option.

Just beware of the watts and amps on a fan heater, I had a small one that kept tripping the electrics, while my small delonghi oil filled heater didn't.

Stick to maximum power output of 2kW at the high setting, and it should be ok providing the site's EHU runs at 10amp.

Heats our Vermont XL fine (the fact that it LOOKS warm helps too!) :)
