Hi, just checked the tent,
I've noticed a small hole in the canvas,
I am thinking of getting one of those patches that just stick on for the timebeing, are they any good or would I be best just getting it repaired professionally??
I Would like to know your thoughts before I do anything
Have to agree, went to get my tent repaired professionally and he told me that he would chatge me minimum £45 and use Teanacious tape or I could do it myself which I did, Tape costs a £5....Job done, sorted
Hi. As a lad we always went camping. Dad got us a brand new ridge tent in orange and green, the height of luxury at the time. He was tying some loops of string round the ridge pole for coat hangers and slipped with his penknife Result, a very neat 1" slit in the canvas. Stuck a piece of Elastoplast over it and it was still there and functioning well 10 years later.
Well I have to say thanks for the advice guys even although it wasn't me that asked the question. We are relatively new to camping and was contemplating purchasing the repair patches for emergencies, however, I have now purchased some Tenacious tape from fleabay!
Another tick for tenacious tape....works on so many things as well as awnings and tents.......Gore Tex tears for example....
