I'm trying to keep the weight down for my trips as a couple of them I'm going by train. One thing I dont like sacrificing is a comfy seat, those tripod things just don't cut it for 2 nights. The standard camping chairs are just too heavy and awkward to carry or strap on to my pack.
I've been looking at the range of inflatable chairs, with some coming in at 1.5kg I'm thinking this might be an option - I already take a pump with me for my airbed.
So far I've looked at the Coleman Scoop Chair and the Vango Flocked Inflatable Chair but there seems to be loads out there... does anyone have any experience of any of these? Something as lightweight as possible but more comfort than a tripod stool is what I'm after.
Cheers
Craig

My sister and her BF had the coleman double love seat thingy, lasted 3 days before it punctured/failed. Was only used inside her tent on a groundsheet. Was fairly heavy too really. Inflatable furniture is good in practice but in reality it will not last as long as a standard alu lightweight chair.
Have you asked in the backpackers section to see what they use? I'd say your question would be more reliably answered in that forum as most on here will probably camp by car so to speak.
Sorry to not be of much help. I will do a google search and see what I can find.

Yet again regarding this question, none of us 'up north' people like them
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

How about a folding fishing chair? Our local camping/caravan store has them in for £4.99 and I'm very tempted to buy some for festival camping this year!
