I just use an electric pump from tescos, which you just plug into the cigarette lighter socket thingy in the car to inflate  the air mattress.  they also come with a plug if you have EHU.

thanks heather - I'm after something to use when away from the car and when we are without EHU as we are trying to get back to nature this year!

I would have gone with an electric pump running off of the cigarette lighter (which is what I use). But if you're insistent on a non electrical unit, I would go for a plain foot pump.

Battery powered pump, is a no-no, doesn't generate enough power to inflate properly (lack of current/power). Hand pump also a no-no, most people don't have much upper body strength/stamina unless they do a manual job. But everyone uses their legs most of the time, so they have the strength/stamina to keep going on the pump.

If going back to nature this year.  I would go with road hog, as I have seen other people using the foot pumps.

Beg to differ, Road Hog but this battery one that we got free with our Coleman Comfort airbed inflates/deflates it every bit as well as our 12/240 volt pump. We use it with rechargeable batteries.

We do have a foot pump as a backup but haven't had to use it yet.

Richard
