The Thetfords type are the most stable. Easy to use.  All contents go into the base sealed unit.   So no spills or accidents.  Easy to empty.  

They come in various sizes,  So workout which size is appropriate for the person using it.  Also  do you have the storage space to carry it.

The chemicals appear expensive but will last a considerable time.  Toilet paper use supermarkets own brand these breakdown better than the quilted expensive type.  Toilet wipes should not go in the unit as they will not break down. 

That's about it,  contents go in, and then you trot off to the CDP in the morning for a chat with your fellow campers to empty it.

I love our Fiamma Bi Pot - very easy to fill, empty and clean and very stable.

We use ours for everything and have never had a problem with smells or leaks.
Put pink fluid in the top flush tank and blue or green fluid in the bottom waste tank which are available from any good camping or caravan store.

we use a Kampa Kamping Khazi, with organic chemicals, never smells and very easy to empty/wash

we NEVER use it for numbers 2s though!

We have the smallest Thetford one and a Fiamma bi pot and the latter is by far the easiest to fill, empty and clean and is also a better height than our little Thetford
