We've had our Cadac BBQ Easi chef for about 4years or so, when we now use it the flame tips are yellow in colour and it generates a soot residue underneath the cooking plates, we have sufficient heat for cooking but it has never been like this before. Any ideas of the cause and how to rectify it, Thanks???
A yellow flame normally indicates that the gas and air mixture is not correct. Suggest you have a look behind the control valve and see if you have any bugs/spiders living there and blocking the air intake.
Thanks for your early replies, I will check the control valve tomorrow, and with the regulator which connects to the gas bottle it may have to be changed completely to check if that's the cause? The previous posting 'SOOT' link doesn't appear here to see if any comments may help? Thanks again.
Update; I contacted Cadac UK who returned my call within 24hrs and promised to send a replacement stem and tripod leg base free of charge within 7-10 days. Well done Cadac Customer Services! Thanks to the other members for the useful info.
