I have acquired a stove (dual burner + grill) made by CF Parker, model 552, but have no instructions for it. Can anyone tell me what gas is suitable and what regulator I would need. I was told that a butane cylinder with a 28mBar regulator was required.
Wow, that was a while ago! I never found any information about that model of stove in the end but I purchased a normal butane regulator and a 4.5kg Calor Gas butane cylinder and it works fine.
It is a pretty good stove - seems to do the job. A bit bulky perhaps compared to some newer models but that wasn't a concern for me.
Space is always a concern for me because my husband has a guide dog so the car and top box are very tightly packed especially as we have now bought an airbeam tent to make putting up easier the down side being they are so much bigger when packed. We have been using a Laredo camping gaz stove which we bought second hand years ago three ring but no grill [I really miss my morning toast] unfortunately it is now getting several rust marks so thought we would replace it and their is a CF Parker 552 for sale on ebay starting bid £20.
Mine has a lid that folds down to protect everything for travelling and from what I can see the 552 does not it has back and side panels but presume these just unclip for storage.
I cannot find any retailer for these apart from a company in Ireland but when you use the telephone number on their website it says number not known also no reviews on this stove anywhere. It looks as if it is quite a well made stove but it Our stove is approx. 11 cm high 62 cm long 29 cm wide
I asked the seller for dimensions but think he must have it wrong because he has stated when packed it is
58 cm wide 35 cm deep 18 cm high and fully open back height 420mm and sides 130mm
Cooking surface width 520mm
if he is right it is not too much bigger than our current stove.
If you had the option again would you buy the Parker or one of the outwell or campingaz stoves ?
Sorry to be such a nuisance but I do not want to get it wrong if it goes cheap I will not have to worry but would rather buy once and get it right.
