I'm fairly new to camping, but have caught the bug quickly. I've just bought a double gas burner with grill that runs off butane and propane. I've managed to get hold of a Calor 4.5kg Butane bottle and have the correct regulator and length of pipe and clips. The instructions say to fix the regulator to the bottle using a suitable spanner. What size do I need? Thanks
Just buy the calor spanner from a camping shop. These spanners are light weight and fit perfectly
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Its not the standard 21 mm you get on the double sided camping spanners. I just used a pair of mole grips to put it on, an adjustable spanner would do it as well.

Butane is right handed thread, Propane is left handed, as said any camping or calor shop will sell spanner
Havn't got a butane cylinder any more but I recall it was left-hand thread, also confirmed by this.
