Hi all, first post in the forum!

We have a aerobed platinum that we bought in feb this year and we have yet to use it for camping. I had the bed stored in the loft, and when I got it out, it fell out of the loft, and hit the loft ladder on the way down. It resulted in a very small, pin head sized hole in the underside of the tent which i have tried my best to repair.

I firstly used the patch that came with the bed, but because where the hole is, it was right on one of the joins of the underside of the bed, it seemed to come loose once the bed was blown up. I have now used some superior glue which claims to be flexible and able to plug small gaps when put on thick, and then i have gaffa taped over this to reinforce it.

We have blown the bed back up after the 24 hours the glue stated it needed to completely dry, and its went down slightly after around 1 hour of no use, just standing

my question is to the aerobed users is is this normal? does your aerobed go down slightly after you fully inflate it? is a couple of blasts on the pump needed to maintain its firmness during the night?

any help or advice is welcomed greatly - Thanks

Ian

Our Aerobed does not go down after an hour of no use.

We have found that air temperature will make a difference but it sounds like you still have a leak somewhere

Yep ours used to go down slightly, I put it down to temps and just pumped it back up to our preferred firmness when we went to bed.

I am going to try it out tonight by sleeping on it downstairs. I hope it doesnt go down too much, but it definately is a little softer after about an hour or so. See what its like with my heavy frame on it for a whole night.

We are going camping on Friday and were really looking forward to sleeping on this aswell. A lot of money was paid and we havent even slept on it yet!

I'm gutted!
