I know a fair few people use them in caravans from the posts I've searched, but just wondering if anyone uses them in a tent?  I've not seen anyone referring to tents when using them just caravans.  Can't afford a Cobb but MIL uses a halogen oven at home and has asked if we'd like one for going camping.

I like the idea of being able to do easy meals in them but just wondered if anyone has a) used them and b) had any problems with them.  Don't want to go blowing the EHU or anything cos of using one....

I used to have one but personally didn't like it at all - I ended up putting it on freecycle!
I took it camping once but prefer to use my slow cooker and stove to cook meals.

There are people on here who love them and have taken them camping successfully but I just didn't like it.
It's one of those things that comes down to personal taste.

As for tripping the electric, remember to check with the site what they supply is (usually 10amp or 16amp but can be as low as 5amp on some sites) and to only use 1 heat emmitting appliance at a time.

Thanks for the info about wattage as well.  We usually go camping in France so will have to check with them what their electric hook up is.  But if I get a small one like the 5 amp one mentioned should that really cover all bases?  I know I probably sound a bit thick but I usually leave electricals up to the OH.

As you can see I take my halogen cooker along with my microwave.(so long as you dont use them together or with a kettle or heater you should be ok with ehu).I wouldnt like to go anywhere with out mine.I take packets of chocolate brownie mix ,.bread mix ,sponge  mix and russle up all sorts of delicacies ! the only downside is they can be a bit heavy and being glass-breakable ,so pack well!                    Caroline
