HI

I am using a 1gb dongle on a laptop. Does anyone know how much it would take to watch iplayer or would I need a larger gb one.

I am new to using dongles etc so forgive my ignorance and what is the difference between streaming tv and iplayer.

Best wishes

Martynsmum

You would soon eat 1gb up watching moving images even 3gb wouldn't do that well, better to get a tv dongle and watch live tv.

Don't know what its like as I've never tried it but you can download them from home and watch on the Iplayer software from your HDD. At least that way it doesn't matter if your in a bad signal area

We have a freeview dongle that I bought from Aldi for about £20 it works fine and you dont need to go onto the internet to watch it.You are however restricted to freeview channels.Cheers.Alex   P.S I also have an internet dongle to surf the web but it is not a cheap option.I wouldn`t waste money on iplayer and the likes

Hi, like the idea of one of these, what kind of aerial do you use?  One of the ones on a pole?  Thanks

I always use the small  aerial supplied with mine and I have had no trouble.Sometimes depending on where you are you have to retune your freeviiew channels.Which normally does the trick.I used to carry a tv, small dvd player.Portable aerial. No more of that nonsense. It`s now laptop all the way and an Ipod and speaker dock. Its an entertainment system all in one
