after having a very cramped trip at weekend decided its time i need a tow bar for my 2001 ford focus, anybody any ideas in the hull area where i can pick one up cheap

I have three towbars fitted (on seperate cars!) at Broadmans on Wiltshire Road (Dairycoates), and have found them to be the cheapest every time (as well as them being able to fit on Saturday mornings!)

tow bar express has just fitted one for our skoda octavia estate....cheapest we could find one supplied and fitted. We've used them twice now x

Can you tell me what sort of price is average to have one fitted? We're buying a second hand trailer, but obviously need a tow bar fitted before we can collect it. We haven't a clue on what sort of price they are to fit though.

ours cost us £280, but i think it depends on car models etc. Our Skoda Octavia estate is a new car and with it having parking sensors on, it cost us a little more. I think my hubby got the price off the internet off them. We have our old towbar in the garage that came off an astra estate. I'm meant to be advertising it in our local paper, but havent got round to it yet!

Thanks! We've got a vauxhall zafira, so I think I'll look for a 2nd hand one as we've spent a fortune on camping stuff recently!!!

Barrington - keep an eye out in Hull daily mail or on their stuff for sale on line. Or what about gumtree? I've not looked on there, but I hear a lot of people using it. Hope you get sorted :o) if I hear of any, I'll try to contact you on here! (I live near Hull!)

i got mine off ebay for my mondeo estate (tow bar now for sale) and it cost me about £120 delivered,(not a cheap thing either ,witter) then i managed to install it with the help of a friend and it took about 2 hours. ive been told about a place in sc**thorpe called tow sure and they are apparently reasonable. when ringing around for mine i did find lots of the suppliers in hull to be very expensive, maybe ask about a fitting service only and get your own from ebay.

I know I'm not in the Hull area but last year I purchased a new towbar for the peugot we had just got - Towsure I think was the dealer and very reasonble - well less that £100. A member of the family who's a mechanic fitted it but couldnt do the electrics - its more complicated on these modern car, so I phone a garage in the next village and they finished for the job for somewhere between £40-£60.  Job done all for less that £200, can you believe that, just took our time and did the research.  The site on ebay was really helpful at ensuring we had the correct bar for our car.

Recently bought and fitted my own and it was a doddle, got the towbar from Anker via their ebay shop (onlinetowbarsuk). Clear concise fitting instructions, online and telephone help if needed too.
The electrics were a bit complicated on my 05 Vectra, but again, great service and instructions from ebay shop norbrooktrailers. Try this link
