Air beds or Folding camp bed. I have been told the camp beds arent very comfy and the double height blow up beds rock and roll about when you turn over.Ive only got room for a single which ever i choose.I cant get a roll mat due to not being able to get up very well if i lay on the floor. So any help would be appreciated.

We started camping 3 years ago, with a double airbed - thought that it was kind-of OK.

This year, we have gone for the single camp bed (Argos ~£18) and SIM/roll mat (Aldi ~£14) appraoch for each of us - everything being tried out in Cornwall next week.

Oh thats good, please let me us know how your stuff bares up.

when we first started camping we had the cheapy blue and red airbeds from Argos which were fine but then we went and got a caravan so was off the camping scene for a couple of years.  We then came back to camping as we missed the enjoyment of being in a tent so got one of those double height airbeds which we hated as it felt like we were on a boat out at sea (so swapped with the kids lol for the rest of the weekend).  Then we got a Aerobed which was fab until it developed a leak whilst in France last year which still hasn't been sorted, so following another campers recommendation I ordered the Outwell Posadas camp bed which we used over the Spring Bank weekend.  It was very comfortable, it provided a much firmer support than we'd had with the airbed, the height makes it easier to get in and out.  To make it even comfier I've got a double memory foam mattress (not tried it yet but hope to do so this weekend)

Hi, There was a thread about the JRC cocoon 3 campbeds for fishing. The guy who bought them said it was brilliant but £99 each. worth a look

Defo in favour of using bedchair very comfy & as the leg length adjusts for uneven ground whack 'em all up to full height & you can be quite high off the ground. Sometimes I put a sim on top especially during colder times, best sleeps I've had in a tent.

 Not cheap but worth every penny 

We use single raised airbeds, my husband loves his says best camping sleep he has had, and we are getting on in years now, we tried camp beds - awful nights sleep, well didnt get any sleep that uncomftable, am interested in bed chairs - maybe next year!!

OK, just back from our 7 nights in Cornwall.

The Argos campbeds and Aldi SIMs mentioned above were brilliant - no complaints at all, really good nights sleeps.

One other thing we tried for the first time (and can really recommend) are sleeping bag liners (the skinny fleece ones)! Got a couple of Gelart ones for ~£10 each off of the net just before we went away - excellent!
