Does anyone knows where I could buy 14mm plastic+metal (not just plastic) pole spikes for my windscreen? A big search on internet has proven fruitless so far.

You can get 19mm ones .

You can get 14mm ones but made entirely of plastic so no good if you use a hammer.

The search is ON!

I assume you just want spikes for wooden poles but have you considered buying plastic covered metal garden canes from Homebase or a garden centre? I use them on my windbreak and whack them in with a lump hammer

Thanks Bob61 but it's an Outwell Windscreen with metal poles 16mm outside dia and 14mm inside dia.

As suggested to me by a post by Former Scout a few days ago on an unrelated thread about Delta pegs, could you not use the plastic spikes having made a pilot hole with a rock peg?

No but I have thought of cutting the plastic/metal 19mm spikes to size, but that would be time consuming.

The polyester type of Windscreens arent meant to be hammered into ground - you lightly push the ground spikes into grass/soil then position the guy ropes off the top spikes & peg the elastics at the bottom of the screen.

Could you not get 8mm x 200mm long hex head coach screws, drive these in with a club hammer, leaving them about 50 mm above ground, then fit the hollow poles over them?
Removal would be easy with a suitable socket and a cordless electric drill.

I have been using these coach screws (150 mm and 200 mm) for years - with appropriate caps - to secure our awning.

8mm screws would presumably come with 13mm Hex head? (spanner/socket size).
As that is usually the A/F dim, that would make hexagon point to point c. 15.01mm.
Post 3 suggests 14mm internal dia. of pole/tube.

Point taken, but hex corners could be ground down slightly without losing the grip facility of a socket.
It might be possible to go down to a 6mm coach screw, but two problems may arise. (1) unable to get a length of bolt to give satisfactory ground penetration and leave the 50mm protrusion above ground. (2) 6mm screws would probably bend too easily.
