Good Afternoon Can anybody help please.

After noticing many Caravaners on site using these Electric Griddles/ Teppanyaki Hot Plates, I have decided to get away from cooking on the Gas and the wind making it difficult to cook a sausage and go for one of these.

What I need to know is this I have found one by Tefal however the wattage is 2800W as I am planning on using this via my Caravan on site via mains electric hook up will this be to many watts for the mains to take and will it just keep fusing my caravan fuse box.

I am hoping to purchase tomorrow so would appreciate some advise this evening if poss so I can decide what to do.

I realise that site watage differes from site to site but need to know if generally it will work fine.

Unfortunately these tyoe of griddles have been very popular and there is an Andrew James model which runs 1800W with great internet reveiws however out of stock untill mid June and there appears to be nothing decent on Amazon either without poor reviews.

Look forward to replies soon

Thanks

Hi, you can work out how much current the product will use by dividing the wattage (power) by the voltage (usually 240 volts on a mains systems, sometimes can be 230)

So for this product 2800 Watts divided by 240 Volts = 11.67 Amps.  As some sites only have a 10 Amp supply this might be too much. You would need to know what the site supply is before hand.

Hope this helps.

We use one like this..
not shure of the wattage but i dont think its to high for the sites i go to, its never tripped the supply.
we also use a george forman grill, (a tip for anyone)if you buy a g forman grill buy one with removable hot plates
the fixed plates are a pain to clean.

Good evening to both of you

Thank you for your replies I mainly tend to use CLs which seem to run a low wat power supply not the normal 10amps.

Moinpenie

I Made a mistake on the wattage the unit below is 2400W Not 2800W that I was originally thinking. From your calculations what would you make of this revised wattage.

And Not sure what to do now as the unit I have seen is £50.00 I dont mind spending the money but what a waste of time if its going to be useless if you see my point.

In response to Alpiner thanks for the image I have looked at these types of griddles and my Mum has one this size in her caravan however its to small for us.

The one I have seen is this

Tefal® Teppanyaki Grill Plate

60 x 30 x 9cm H. (23½" x 12" x 3½"). 2400W

Look forward to your thoughts

Hi 4humps thanks for the recommendation had a look at the double boiling ring looks like a good idea.

To cook greasy breakfasts outside is what intend a griddle for, I have a double gas stove which is a nightmare to cook anything outside as it doesnt have a wind deflector apart from shielding the flame burners with Heinz Tomato sauce, HP Brown Sauce, Salt and Vegtable Oil LOL!!!!!!!

Joking aside where the wind interfears with the flames it is impossible to use.

Thanks for taking the time to share your information.
