We've spent years on ground mats but we're getting a bit creaky (or liking comfort more). We've tried air beds but the other half can't sleep on them.
Therefore we are looking at getting camp beds. I've been looking at Amazon reviews and a few other sites with reviews but I'm coming up a bit blank. Does anyone have any recommendations?
For reference we are looking at either two singles or one double to go in the 4 bed section of the Gelert Nemesis 6 http://www.amershamoutdoor.co.uk/Suppliers/Gelert/Nemesis%206.htm
we've got 2 campbeds, 1 a single (not sure if it's a Hi-Gear or Gelert on without getting it our) and a double Outwell Posadas. The single one is very hard to put together at the end and creaks a lot. The Outwell we love, it is easy to erect, very comfy with or without a memory foam mattress on top. Only downside is the bar in the middle but tbh it's nothing major compared to getting a decent nights sleep just means I can't drain hubby's heat from his body lol.

May 13 - Cala Gogo, St Cyprien (didn't go, hubby too ill to travel)
May 14 Ranc Davaine
August 14 Les Sablons
August 13 - Camping Playa Brava, Pals
Haven't tried it out yet, going camping on Saturday so will let you know how we get on. Had fantastic service from Outdoor Megastore, it arrived with two small holes in the fabric, they did a straight exchange two days later (which was the earliest I could arrange to be home to wait for the delivery).
I have just invested in a fishing bed/chair. I tried it out and it is so comfy with foam mattress. Expensive, yes but a good night's sleep is priceless.
Thoroughly recommend TF Gear comfort zone bedchairs, yeah expensive with basic 3/4 legs at just under £100 - the kingsize at up to £149 but well worth it. Ive downsized and bought new more compact gear this year to make sure it fits in my Peugeot Partner tepee with my powerchair. Carer & lil one are on SIM's.

I swear by my camp bed and sim combo. The only way it could be improved is if the bed was a little wider. Since buying it I have now found the Highlander Torran Camp Bed it is wide enough to work as a proper lying down flat on your back bed. That extra few inches of width could make all the difference comfort wise. You can check them out here:-
We have tried the low to the ground "Army issue" type beds which are surprisingly comfy, but very tricky to put together.
We then bought some higher steel framed beds and loved these. Very comfy, nice to be off the ground and you can store stuff underneath. They are heavy but not too bulky to take in the car.
Do check measurements though. If you have a tent with sloping inners the height of the beds may be a problem.
Ive yet to figure out measurements cos the quechua I have 1 side is 210 other 225 meaning 1 pod is slightly longer than other, the new 4.2's pods have been changed so they dont have as much of a slope as the old type so bonus. In the old 4.2 even on a normal airbed the slope was annoying.
