We have never used a windbreak, but it was a bit breezy sitting outside to eat at Easter and I think we would find one very useful. And for privacy on a busier site. BUT, money is a bit tight (otherwise I'd have the outwell polycotton to go with the Bear) so I have just found this from Asda. Has anyone any experience of this or Yellowstone stuff generally. I'm wondering about getting 2 to make an enclosed space, but will the material just be thin noisy and useless? I hope not.
Dont know about your local asda but they are on the shelf in Grimsby,i know some people like this type but i found them no good in the wind and went back to the normal type.

------------- they said it couldnt be done so i left it and went camping
a bad days camping is better than a good day at work
We use the normal beach stripey ones, they aren't colour co-ordinated to the tent But they barely move and no extra guy ropes for the children/dog to fall over.
I'm sure I remember reading somewhere else that the fancy expensive ones were pretty useless when the wind got up a fair bit, and that the cheapo stripeys were much better. Hope so, cos we've got the cheapo stripey ones too ! Haven't acually used them yet though so can't say for sure.
I looked at the cheapy stripey ones as they are in the Argos sale. I'm ashamed to say that the colours put me off - green stripey would be fine! I've ordered the last Asda one to be delivered on Friday so I'll have a look and see if it looks strong, I'm a bit fearful that the poles will be flimsy, but at that price I decided it was worth a gamble. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for the advice - and let me know if I can get a big fat stripey one that isn't blue!!
Thanks. The green stripey one looks boring in comparison! I'll trial my Asda cheapy this weekend if it arrives in time and if it's not up to the job I'll have to start workin onthe other half to see if flowery is acceptable!
Bought Outwell to replace one of my cheap stripey ones, came back from camping and bought another cheap stripey one, gave the Outwell one to my dad to protect his plants from the wind LOL.
In the case of windbreaks it seems cheap is better.
