I am looking for an inexpensive solar charger for my iPhone. When we go away camping for the weekend my iPhone dies before the end of the trip. Sitting with the car engine running is a pain and takes a long time to charge.
I would like a unit that I can place say on the dashboard of the car during the day and then plug in my phone at night to charge up. Does anybody have anything like this they could recommend?

I got mine from Aldi £20 Not sure if it's the same spec as others mentioned, as I've not checked through them. The thing with mine is that it is actually a battery as well as a charger, so would do the job just as a battery, I think the battery is about six times the capacity of the mp4 inbuilt battery.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

The UK's latitude and relatively cloudy climate means small solar panels don't work so well - the angle of the sun is much shallower than at the equator. Some here have recommended solar devices with batteries - why not just go with the battery?
http://www.portablepowersupplies.co.uk/index.htm have good USB batteries at a good price. No connection with the company - just a happy customer. (Also note their opinion that even their own solar charger isn't suited to the UK..)
