Hi all,  im sure somebody can help me with this.

i have purcahsed the following (cheap) waeco cool box

unfortunately i have a 24v version not 12v,  now thi is not a problem once on the campsite as i can hook it up to mains, but it would be nice to have cold food on the way, is is possible to convert them to 12v

Changing 12v D.C. to 24v D.C. is not easy, someone might make an adaptor but apart from cases like yours I wouldn't think there would be much call for it. My only real suggestion would be to buy a 12v to 240v invertor and plug it into the cigar lighter socket in your car. You would then plug the mains lead of your coolbox into the 240v socket on the invertor.

Try it on 12v before you do anything else, it might well work. All the truck coolboxes I have seen are described as 12/24v.

All trucks run 24v electrics, but have a dropper to provide 12v for an accessory socket, and the cab phone etc.

You could buy a dropper online to wire inline. Try googling '24/12v dropper'.
